Joanie Halter
Joan Halter (Joanie) was born and raised in St Louis, Missouri. She attended college at the University of Missouri, Columbia Missouri, and graduated with a BS in Restaurant Management. Joanie is the mother to 2 daughters, Rachael and Stacy and a “daycare mom” to countless more.
Over the years Joanie worked in various food establishments before starting Joanie’s Catering LLC in 2000. To say that the love of food and service is her passion is an understatement; it is in her blood and when you see her out doing what she loves you know it is where she is meant to be.
Joanie ran the very successful catering business for 20 years. She decided to retire in 2020, but you can still see her out helping her daughter Rachael (current owner) from time to time.
Joanie still loves to cook and entertain but she is loving the retired life exploring new passions and hobbies.
Rachael Wright
Rachael Wright is the eldest daughter of Joanie Halter. She is the mother to 3 children and many fur babies. Throughout the years Rachael has held employment in various different positions but has felt most at home in the kitchen. She attributes that to helping her mother in the catering business from it’s inception in 2000.
When Joanie retired in 2020 Rachael took over the business and has been running it on her own for the past 5 years. While she wouldn’t say it has always been a passion of hers, she truly loves the catering business and can’t imagine doing anything else.
When asked what she loves best about the business she said, “I get to meet so many people that I might never have gotten to meet had I not been in this business. Everyone has a story to tell and to get to be a part of their story, in some capacity, is truly rewarding. I have made so much more than “professional colleagues”, I have made lifetime friends”.
Joanie’s Catering LLC
Joanie’s Catering is a family owned catering business that was established in 2000 by Joan Halter and is currently owned and operated by her daughter Rachael. Joanie’s Catering has been a part of the Hutchinson community for over 25 years serving personal and corporate events of all sizes. Joanie’s has been fortunate to be able to serve our surrounding communities as well, traveling wherever we are needed.
While we offer a wide variety of meal options, we pride ourselves on putting each individual first and are always willing to work with you to ensure your needs and the needs of your guests are met with the utmost care and sincerity. We offer special diet options to ensure the food safety for your guests.
At Joanie’s we pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service and our attention to detail. No task is too big or too small and we are always willing to lend a hand or answer any questions that you may have.
